National Constitution Day-2024

An initiative of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Department of Political Science, celebrated National Constitution Day-2024 with great enthusiasm on November 25 and 26, 2024. The two-day event was Structured to Create awareness about the Indian Constitution and its core values among Students and Staff through various activities.
On November 25, a debate competition was Orgainsed in the college auditorium. Six teams showcasing their analytical and communication skills while discussing topics related to Constitution. The competition was a testament to the students’ understanding level of our Indian constitutional values, with two teams securing the first and second prizes.
The celebrations continued on November 26 with a Constitution Awareness Rally, began at 10:00 AM from the college premises and proceeded to the Shri Siddheshwar Temple. The rally witnessed active participation from students and staff, who carried placards and raised slogans to spread the message of constitutional awareness.
On the same day, at 11:30 AM, the formal Constitution Day- 2024 program commenced in the college Function hall. The event began with a tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, with students and staff offering prayers to his portrait as a mark of respect. Prof. Rekha Gadagi , Head of the Department of Political Science, led the gathering in reciting the Preamble of the Constitution, reaffirming its importance and relevance.
The guest speaker, Dr. BandeNawaz Korabu , Assistant Professor at Government First Grade College, Vijayapura, delivered an enlightening lecture. He elaborated on the values of the Constitution, emphasizing the significance of the Preamble and its application in modern society. His speech inspired the students to delve deeper into the principles of justice, equality, liberty, and fraternity enshrined in the Constitution.
The principal of the college, Dr. Y. Tammanna, presided over the event and addressed the audience, highlighting the contributions of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He noted that Ambedkar was not only the strength of a community but also the strength of the nation, inspiring generations to uphold constitutional ideals.
The program witnessed active participation from 25 teaching and non-teaching staff members, along with 190 students. IQAC coordinator Dr. Bhakti Mahindrakar briefed about our proud Indian constitution and its effectiveness in achieving social & economic justice. and senior faculty member Dr. A.T. Srinivas, Prof. P.S. Tolnur, Prof.V.S.Nadesh, Dr.Savita Lamani, Kavita Shivoor& many other staff members were , present, lending their support to the event.
The National Constitution Day celebrations concluded successfully, instilling a deeper
understanding of the Constitution and its values among the participants. The college reaffirmed
its commitment to promoting constitutional literacy and nurturing responsible and informed
citizens.
