B.L.D.E. Association’s Smt. Bangaramma Sajjan Arts, Commerce and Science College for Women, Vijayapura, under IQAC Initiative, Women Empowerment Cell successfully organized an Awareness Programme on “Women Reservation” on 22nd July 2026 at 10:30 a.m. in the Seminar Hall.
The programme commenced with the welcome address by Prof. V. S. Nandesh, HoD Education, followed by the formal inauguration. The event was coordinated by Smt. Anita Dolli, Coordinator, Women Empowerment Cell, under the guidance of the Principal Dr. Y. Tammanna and IQAC Coordinator Dr. Bhakti Mahindrakar.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Mallamma Yalawar, CEO, Sabala, Vijayapura, delivered an informative and inspiring talk on the importance of women’s reservation in achieving gender equality and increasing women’s participation in politics, governance, education, and employment. She highlighted the constitutional provisions, recent developments, and the role of reservation in empowering women socially, economically, and politically. She encouraged students to become aware of their rights and actively participate in leadership roles.
The Guest Speaker, Smt. Anasuya Hajeri, President, Janawadi Sanghatane, emphasized the need for women’s active involvement in public life and discussed the challenges faced by women in exercising their democratic rights. She motivated the students to raise their voices against discrimination and contribute to nation-building.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students. The interactive session enabled students to clarify their doubts regarding women’s reservation policies, constitutional rights, and opportunities for leadership.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the distinguished guests, by Smt. Shweta. S. Tadavalagi, faculty Botony. The Principal, gave presidential address.
Overall, the awareness programme was highly informative and inspiring. It successfully enhanced students’ understanding of the importance of women’s reservation and encouraged them to become responsible, confident, and active citizens committed to gender equality.
