Annual Gathering Report
The Annual Gathering 2025–26 of BLDEA’s Smt. Bangaramma Sajjan Arts, Commerce and Science College for Women, Vijayapura was held on 24th April 2026 in the Seminar Hall under the initiative of IQAC. The programme was organized with great enthusiasm under the theme “अंत एक नई शुरुआत है.”
The gathering commenced with a welcome address by V. S. Nadesh, followed by an introductory address by Dr. Bhakti Mahindrakar, IQAC Coordinator. The annual report and sports report were presented by Smt. Deepa Lagali and Dr. Savita Anneppannavar respectively. On this occasion, a book published by the Department of English was also released by the dignitaries.
The chief guest, Shri Shankargouda S. Somnal , KAS, Registrar, KSAWU, Vijayapura, highlighted the facilities provided by KSAWU. He inspired students by sharing the difficulties he faced while completing his education and encouraged them to remain determined. He advised students to develop the habit of reading newspapers daily to improve their general knowledge. To make the session interactive, he asked 20 general knowledge questions and awarded prizes to students who answered correctly.
The Guest of Honour, Shri Mahesh P. Potadar , Deputy Director, Social Welfare Department, Vijayapura, urged students to cultivate humanity and overcome inferiority complexes. He motivated them to achieve their personal goals and emphasized the importance of friendship. He also encouraged students to keep their dreams alive.
Prof. S. S. Kori , Physical Director, BLDEA, Vijayapura, emphasized that a lack of physical activity leads to various health issues. He highlighted the importance of sports in improving mental awareness, physical fitness, and social development.
The President of the function, Dr. Y. Tammanna , Principal of the college, in his presidential address, reflected on the struggles and achievements of Shri Shankargouda S. Somnal and Shri Mahesh P. Potadar, presenting their journeys as inspiring examples. He also cited Prof. S. S. Kori as a living example of maintaining a healthy and fit lifestyle.
During the programme, university rank holders, achievers in sports, and meritorious students from all streams were felicitated. Endowment cash prizes were awarded exclusively to meritorious students and University Blues. The programme was compered by Miss Chandrakala Dodamani and Mrs. Manjunath Myagedi. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Sudnyani Biradar.
The programme witnessed the presence of more than 50 teaching and non-teaching staff members and over 300 students, making the event a grand success that inspired everyone to embrace new beginnings with confidence and determination.
