Department of Economics in collaboration with the Alumni Association, organised Online National Conference on “Impact of War on Indian Economy: A Multidisciplinary Approach” on 15/04/2026
The Conference brought together eminent academicians, researchers, and students from across the country to deliberate on the economic consequences of war and its wider implications.
200+ academicians registered for the conference.
110 participants actively engaged throughout all the sessions.
30 research papers were presented online, with contributions from Punjab, Nasik, Dharwad, and several other states. Undergraduate and postgraduate students of various Colleges & Universities participated enthusiastically.
The conference was inaugurated by Prof. Y. M. Jayaraj, Pro‑Chancellor, BLDE Deemed University.
Keynote Address: Delivered by Prof. Basavaraj Jirli, Director, CMDR, Dharwad.
Eminent Speakers:
1. Dr. K. Chandrashekhar, Centre for Economic and Social Studies (CESS) – Hyderabad, Telangana
2. Prof. G. S. Kamble – Director, School of Social Science, Solapur University – Solapur
Both speakers provided extensive insights and elaborated on the theme with scholarly depth.
The paper presentation session was chaired by Prof. B. S. Belagali, IQAC Coordinator, New Arts College, Tikota. The session was well‑managed and provided a platform for diverse perspectives from researchers and students.

The Department of Economics, with strong support from the Alumni Association and technical team, successfully created a vibrant platform for scholarly exchange. The event not only enriched participants with multidisciplinary perspectives on the impact of war on the Indian economy
