Under the IQAC Initiative – Department of Sociology
The College organized a special lecture on “Changing Gender Norms in Contemporary Society” under the IQAC initiative in collaboration with the Department of Sociology.
Delivering the lecture, Dr. M. C. Nigashetty highlighted the changing patterns of gender roles and norms in contemporary society. He emphasized the importance of gender equality, social awareness, and creating an inclusive society based on mutual respect and equal opportunities.
Presiding over the programme, Principal Dr. Y. Tammana emphasized the significance of understanding changing gender perspectives and promoting equality and human values among students.
Smt. Shewata Tadavalgi warmly welcomed the gathering and introduced the resource person. The session was anchored by Smt. Soujanya Bilagi. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Dr. Sudnyani Biradar, HOD, Department of Sociology.
A total of 102 students attended the programme and actively participated in the session.
The lecture enriched students’ understanding of changing gender norms and encouraged them to reflect on the importance of equality, mutual respect, and social transformation in contemporary society.
