Ｏｕｒ Ｃｏｌｌｅｇｅ Ｂａｃｋｇｒｏｕｎｄ

BLDEA’S Smt. Bangaramma Sajjan Arts and Commerce College for Women, Vijayapura was established in the year 1983, to educate and empower women in the socially, economically and educationally backward region of North Karnataka.   It was included   in the year 1989 under the section  2 (F) and 12 (B) of the UGC ACT,1956.It is permanently affiliated to Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women’s University’ Vijayapur.(KSAWUV). The college is renamed as BLDEA’s Smt. Bangaramma Sajjan Arts and Commerce College for Women, Vijayapura from the academic year 2013-14 to honour the great Philanthropist Smt. Bangaramma Sajjan.

The college is situated in the heart of the city with a well-protected campus. It stands on a wide area of 6 acres 20 gunta.  The college has an adequate number of qualified and experienced Staff, well-equipped Labs, Class Rooms, an Internet Facility, Indoor and Outdoor games facilities The college has commenced BCA and M.Com Programmes in 2017 and BSc. in 2020.Further, the college inculcates the spirit of social service among the students through NSS,YRC,Scouts and Guides, and YFS Programmes. The BLDE Association nurtures  the institute to develop into an excellent center of higher education for women. The college has been included in the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) Cell since January 2018. The Association’s SOP cell monitors the development growth and quality sustenance in the college.The college is re-accredited at A Grade in the 4th  Cycle  by NAAC with CGPA 3.22.
