An awareness Workshop on “Adaptation of Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) to Girls and SC/ST Students” was organised on 10th December 2025 at the Seminar Hall of BLDEA’s S.B.S. Arts, Commerce & Science College for Women, Vijayapura. The event was jointly conducted by the Examination Section, KSAWU in collaboration with IQAC of BLDEA’s S.B.S. Arts, Commerce & Science College for Women. The workshop aimed to create awareness about the Academic Bank of Credits system under NEP-2020, with a special focus on empowering Girls and SC/ST students. Prof. Vijaya B. Korishetti, Hon. Vice Chancellor, KSAWU, Vijayapura, inaugurated the workshop and highlighted the importance of ABC in ensuring academic flexibility, student mobility, and transparency in the learning process. Shri. Shankaragouda S. Somanal, KAS , Registrar and FO, KSAWU, Vijayapura, emphasised the relevance of the ABC system in enhancing opportunities for students from marginalized communities. Eminent resource persons delivered insightful sessions covering the operational, academic, and technical aspects of ABC. Prof. G. G. Rajput Professor, Department of Computer Science & Director, PME Board, KSAWU, Vijayapura, delivered the talk on the topic of Digital functioning of ABC and student registration process. Dr. Rupesh Kumar A, Associate Professor, Department of Library and Information Science, Tumkur University, delivered a talk on the topic of ABC as a national academic repository and its benefits to students. Dr. Y. Tammanna, Principal, BLDEA’s S.B.S. Arts, Commerce & Science College for Women, presided over the programme and encouraged students and faculty to actively adopt the ABC system for academic advancement. Prof. P. G. Tadasad, Workshop Coordinator & Director, IQAC, KSAWU delivered a keynote speech.
Faculty members, administrative staff, and a large number of students from KSAWU and the collaborating college actively took part. Students, especially those from SC/ST communities, interacted enthusiastically and clarified doubts regarding ABC registration and credit transfer.
The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, resource persons, and participants. The programme was highly informative and successfully met its objective of creating awareness about the Academic Bank of Credits system and its benefits for Girls and SC/ST students. The programme was coordinated by the Department of Commerce, headed by Dr. Jayashree Beerapp and department colleagues. Mrs. Shaila Rebagond, Mr. Somashekhar Tuppad, and Miss. Boramma. Desai. Mr. Manjunath Magedi compered the programme.
