The resource person for the session was
Dr. Ashvini Patil, Assistant Professor, Department of Sociology, S. K. S. Jigalur Arts and Dr. S. M. S. Commerce College for Women, Dharwad.
Dr. Ashvini Patil began the session by explaining the concept of gender and how it differs from biological sex. The lecture focused on major gender issues prevailing in India, such as discrimination in education, economy, employment, health, and political representation. The session was highly informative and thought-provoking. Students actively participated in the discussion and clarified their doubts.
A total of 59 students attended the session. The Principal, Prof. Tammanna Y. Sir, IQAC Co-ordinator Dr. Bhakti Mahendrakar, Dr. Sudnyani Biradar, and faculty members from various departments were also present. The lecture was a great learning experience and helped participants gain deeper insights into contemporary gender issues
