Report on Swachhata Pakhwada Programme

The Department of History, NSS Unit – I & II in collaboration with the Department of Tourism, organised the Swachhata Pakhwada programme at a Heritage site of Vijayapura City.
The programme aimed to create awareness amongst the students about the importance of cleanliness, hygiene, and the preservation of historical and cultural heritage.
Shri Aravinda Hugar, Deputy Director, Department of Tourism, and Shri Anilkumar Banajiga, Consultant, Department of Tourism, graced the programme and guided the students on the importance of maintaining cleanliness at heritage sites. They highlighted the responsibility of citizens and students in protecting and preserving our valuable historical monuments.
The programme was conducted under the guidance & presence of Dr. Y. Tammanna—Principal, Dr. Bhakti Mahindrakar—IQAC Coordinator, Shri. V. S. Nandesh & Smt. Deepa Lagali—NSS Coordinators of Unit I & II, respectively.
Miss Chandrakala Dodamani, Head, Department of History* ; *Shri Vishwanath Naik*; and *Miss Rekha Gadagi* were present.
NSS volunteers and students actively participated in the cleanliness activities at the heritage site.
The program successfully created awareness about Swachhata, environmental responsibility, and the preservation of our heritage.
The programme concluded with a message encouraging students to maintain cleanliness and contribute actively towards protecting the cultural heritage of the nation with the objective of sustainability.
