B.L.D.E. Association’s Smt. Bangaramma Sajjan Arts, Commerce and Science College for Women, Vijayapura, and the Departments of Home Science and Women Studies jointly organized a special lecture on “Healthy Youth, Healthy Nation: The Role of Nutrition in Preventing Lifestyle Diseases” under the initiative of IQAC.The welcome address, introductory speech and introduction of the resource person were delivered by Smt. Anita Dolli, HOD, Department of Home Science, and the event organizer. She welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members and students and highlighted the importance of nutrition in maintaining health and preventing lifestyle diseases.
Dr. Nataraj A. Durgannavar, Assistant Professor, Department of Food Processing and Nutrition, KSAWU, Vijayapura, was the resource person. He highlighted the importance of balanced nutrition, healthy dietary practices and lifestyle modification in preventing lifestyle-related diseases among youth. The session created awareness among students about making informed food choices and adopting healthy habits for a healthier future.
Smt. Anita Dolli, HOD, Home Science, coordinated the programme. Dr. B. R. Mahindrakar, IQAC Coordinator, and Dr. Y. Tammanna, Principal, supported the programme.The programme was presided over by Dr. Y. Tammanna, Principal. In his presidential address, he emphasized the importance of healthy dietary practices, physical activity and positive lifestyle habits among youth.The programme was compered by Mr. Manjunath Myagedi, HOD, Department of Statistics, who coordinated the proceedings smoothly.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Ms. Chandrakala Doddamani, HOD, Department of History, who expressed gratitude to the Principal, resource person, IQAC coordinator, organizing departments, faculty members and students for their support and participation.The programme concluded on a positive note with a renewed commitment to promoting healthy eating habits and a healthy lifestyle among youth.
The programme was conducted with active participation of students and faculty members and served as an informative initiative towards promoting “Healthy Youth, Healthy Nation”.
