BLDEA’s S.B.S. Arts, Commerce & Science College for Women, Vijayapura Birth Anniversary Celebration of Dr. P.G. Halakatti
Under the IQAC initiative, the Department of Kannada at organized a program to commemorate the Birth Anniversary of Dr. P.G. Halakatti, a distinguished scholar, writer, and social reformer.
The event featured insightful addresses by Smt. Deepa Lagali and Dr. Y. Tammanna, who highlighted Dr. Halakatti’s remarkable contributions to Kannada literature and his major role in the establishment of the BLDE Association in 1910. Their talks emphasized his vision for education, cultural enrichment, and community development, inspiring the audience to carry forward his legacy.
The program concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks proposed by Dr. Sunil Kumar Yadav, who expressed gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, students, and organizers for their active participation and support in making the celebration successful.
This commemoration not only honoured the life and work of Dr. Halakatti but also served as a reminder of his enduring impact on Kannada culture and the educational landscape of Vijayapura.
