A One-Day National Webinar on “Nationality in Contemporary Hindi Literature” was successfully organized under IQAC Initiative by the Department of Hindi of Smt. Bangaramma Sajjan Arts, Commerce and Science College for Women.

The programme commenced with a prayer song sung by BA final year student ShriSudha, creating a serene and respectful atmosphere. This was followed by the introductory speech delivered by Dr. Shakuntala Patil, Head of the Department of Hindi, who highlighted the significance and objectives of the webinar.

The inaugural address was delivered by Prof. Raju Bagalkot, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Chairman of the Department of Hindi, Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women University, Vijaypura. Madam spoke insightfully on the concept of nationality and its relevance in contemporary times.
The keynote address was presented by Prof. Pratibha Mudliar from Mysore University. She delivered an enlightening talk on contemporary Hindi literature and nationality, emphasizing the philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. She also highlighted the declining awareness among the younger generation regarding values and discussed the concept of Stree Astitva.
Further, Prof. Namadev Gouda, CDC Director of Akkamahadevi Women University, spoke on the concept of Bharateeyata in Hindi literature. He stressed the importance of parental values and religious faith in shaping individuals.
The resource person Prof. Haasim Beg Mirza delivered a talk on contemporary Hindi novels and short stories. He elaborated on human values, the challenges faced by the Dalit community, and social realities reflected in literature.
Another resource person, Dr. Renu Yadav, focused on contemporary Hindi poetry. She discussed cultural and religious values depicted in modern Hindi poems.
The presidential remarks were delivered by Dr. Y. Tammanna, who appreciated the efforts of the department and the relevance of the theme.
The entire webinar was conducted smoothly and enthusiastically by Dr. Sunil Yadav. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Shakuntala Patil, expressing gratitude to all the speakers, participants, and organizers.
The webinar was a grand success, enriching the participants with valuable insights into nationality and contemporary Hindi literature.
