Awareness Program on “Government Facilities for Students
BLDEA’s Smt. Bangaramma Sajjan Arts, Commerce and Science College for Women, Vijayapur, organized a vital Awareness Programme on “Government Facilities for Students”. This initiative was jointly coordinated by the IQAC and the SC/ST and Minority Cell, aiming to inform and empower students about various government schemes and benefits available to them.
The program, held on November 13th, 2025, at 10:30 AM in the Seminar Hall, featured distinguished guests who shed light on the importance and process of availing these facilities.
The event was graced by *Shri. Mahesh P Potadar, Deputy Director, Social Welfare Office, Vijayapur*, who served as the Chief Guest. His expertise from the Social Welfare Office provided students with direct and authoritative insights into schemes designed for financial and educational upliftment.
Shri. Ilahi Nagaral, Extension Officer, Minority Welfare Office, Vijayapur, attended as the Guest of Honor. His presence ensured that specific facilities targeting students from minority communities were effectively communicated, detailing the opportunities available to them for academic advancement.
The session was presided over by the college’s Principal, Dr. Y. Tammanna, who highlighted the institution’s commitment to the holistic development of its students. The organization of this program underscores the college’s dedication—which is Affiliated to Karnataka State Akkamahadevi Women’s University Vijayapur and Re-accredited at the “A” grade with CGPA 3.22 by NAAC—to not just academic excellence but also to socio-economic support.
The success of the awareness programme was the result of the collaborative effort led by Dr. Srinivas. A T, Coordinator of the SC/ST & Minority Cell, and Dr. Bhakti Mahendrakar, the IQAC Coordinator, Prof. V. S. Nandeesh, Dr. K.A.Patil. Along with 30 teaching and Non-teaching staff and More than 140 Students were present.
The program was a significant step toward ensuring that all students, particularly those from marginalized groups, are fully aware of and able to access the crucial educational and financial support provided by the government, paving the way for a brighter future.
