Under IQAC initiative Department of Political Science of BLDEA’s Smt. Bangaramma Sajjan Arts Commerce and Science College for Women, Vijayapur organised one-day national Webinar, titled “India’s Role in the New Global Order,” on 25th July 2024. The event was designed to delve into India’s evolving position within the global landscape, exploring its strategic, economic, and diplomatic roles. It brought together distinguished speakers, experts, and participants to engage in in-depth discussions on India’s growing influence on the world stage.
Welcome and Introduction :Dr. Y. Tammanna, Principal, welcomed the attendees and provided an overview of the webinar’s objectives. His introduction set the stage for the day’s discussions and established the framework for the sessions that followed.
Inaugural Session:Inaugurator was Prof. Chandrakant Yatanoor, Prof.Dept of Political Science, Gulburga University, Kalburgi. In his inaugurator speech he set the tone for the event with his insightful opening remarks. He highlighted the significance of the topic in light of current global shifts and India’s emerging role in international affairs.
Chief Guest: Prof.Harish Ramaswamy, Vice-Chancellor Raichur University, Raichur was the chief guest of the event. He delivered a thought-provoking address emphasizing the importance of academic discourse in understanding and shaping India’s role in the new global order. His speech underlined the value of strategic insights in academic and policy-making spheres.
Keynote Speaker was Prof.M.J. Vinod Retired Prof.Dept. of International relations Christ University, Banglore. In his keynote address, he focused on “India’s Strategic Vision in a Changing Global Order.” His address provided a comprehensive analysis of India’s strategic ambitions, its role in global governance, and how it is positioning itself amid emerging geopolitical trends.
Resource Person Prof. B.V.Murlidhar Prof. & Head Dept. Of Pol.Sci. & Pub.Admin. S.V.University, Tirupati provided a detailed perspective on today’s topic focusing on India’s role and impact in that area.Another resource person Prof.Y.Surendrakumar Prof.Dept of Political Science, Banglore University, Banglore highlighted India’s advancement and contribution in the new global order.Dr B.R.Patil Asso.Prof. Dept. Of Pol.Sci Govt First Grade College Dharwad , resource person addressed both challenges and opportunities in this critical area. After the lectures delivered by the resource persons,it was followed by interaction session.
President of the Webinar was the Principal of the college Dr.Y.Tammanna and vote of thanks was proposed by Miss Rekha Gadgai HOD of Pol.Sci.The webinar technically was handled very smoothly and live stream on You Tube Channel by Mr. Suleman Hatharkihal HOD of Economis. Smt Hussna S Desai Asst.Prof Dept of English and Mr.Sharan Patil Asst.Prof Dept of English introduced the eminent guests.
Conclusion:Thus the Webinar “India’s Role in the New Global Order” was successfully conducted on 25th July 2024 and achieved its primary objectives. Total number of attendees who joined the webinar were 947.The webinar provided a platform for in-depth discussions on India’s evolving role in the new global order. The sessions highlighted the complexities and opportunities facing India as it navigates its path on the international stage. The event underscored the importance of continued engagement and strategic planning to leverage India’s strengths and address global challenges effectively.
