*Report on Heritage Walk Programme*

*Venue* : Heritage Sites, Vijayapura
*The Department of History and the Department of Tourism, Vijayapura, in collaboration with NSS Unit-I and NSS Unit-II, organised a Heritage Walk* on 26 September 2026 at the prominent heritage sites of Vijayapura City.
The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the rich historical, architectural and cultural heritage of Vijayapura and to familiarise them with the historical significance of the city’s monuments and heritage sites.
*Shri Aravinda Hugar, Deputy Director, Department of Tourism, and Shri Anilkumar Banajiga, Consultant, Department of Tourism, graced the program and guided the students about the historical importance of Vijayapura’s heritage sites. They highlighted the significance of preserving and protecting the rich cultural heritage for future generations.
The Heritage Walk was enriched by the valuable presence and guidance of historians *Shri. Pithar Aleksandar and Shri. Amin Hullur,* who shared historical information and insights about the heritage and monuments of Vijayapura.
The programme was conducted under the guidance and presence of *Dr Tammanna, Principal; Shri V. S. Nandesh, NSS Coordinator, Unit-I; Dr. Bhakti Mahindrakar, IQAC Coordinator; and Smt. Deepa Lagali, NSS Coordinator, Unit-II.*
*Miss Chandrakala Dodamani, Head, Department of History; Shri Vishwanath Naik; Miss Soujanya Bilagi; and Shri Tousif Bagavan* were present and actively supported the programme.
Around 200 students participated enthusiastically in the Heritage Walk. The students visited the heritage sites and gained valuable knowledge about their historical, architectural and cultural significance.
The programme successfully provided students with an opportunity to connect classroom learning with real historical sites and encouraged them to develop a sense of heritage awareness, cultural responsibility and conservation.
The Heritage Walk concluded with a message encouraging students to value, preserve, and protect the historical and cultural heritage of Vijayapura for future generations.
