India Marks Milestone 80th Independence Day

BLDEA’s Smt. Bangaramma Sajjan Arts, Commerce and Science College for Women, Vijayapura, celebrated the 80th Independence Day with great patriotism and enthusiasm. The programme was organized by the Department of Physical Education and Sports under the guidance of the Physical Director, Dr. Savita Aneppanavar.

The programme commenced with the Scout and Guide students escorting the Principal, Dr. Y. Tammanna, to the venue. Dr. Y. Tammanna hoisted the National Flag, followed by the singing of the National Anthem. In his presidential remarks, he highlighted the significance of Independence Day and urged students to contribute towards the development of the nation through discipline, dedication, and social responsibility.

Students delivered speeches on the importance of Independence Day and paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. Prizes were distributed to the winners of the Speech Competition organized by the Language Forum. Certificates were also awarded to the Scout and Guide students who had successfully participated in the State-Level Scout and Guide Camp.

The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks. All the teaching and non-teaching staff members, along with 462 students, attended the programme and made it a grand success.
